Project Lotus Blossom...or Operation Hibiscus? Lotus (National plant of Vietnam), or Hibiscus (National plant of South Korea).
We are now walking the fence trying to make a final decision between which country to go forward with. I change my mind daily (there are many factors to consider...don't feel like spelling them all out right at the moment)...but Carl is a little less fickle and together we have a plan of sorts.
Officially we are on the waiting list for Korea (since January of this year) and based on some recent information given to us by our homestudy worker we will stay there until at least the end of July to see how things go. If things in Korea don't start to pick up by then we will likely switch to Vietnam. We have been speaking with an agency who has a Vietnam adoption program which we have decided to use if we go with Vietnam...so we won't actually have a lapse in the process if we do decide to switch.
I get slightly overwhelmed when faced with making the final decision about which country and program to go with. I know in the end it will all fall into place, but when I think about how this decision impacts which child will become ours...which of course impacts our whole entire life then I start to freak out just a little.
On a more productive note, our first homestudy visit is scheduled this month...which is great as we feel like we are moving forward one way or the other!
More later...
